Orange silica gel is more preferred as compared to blue silica gel. This silica gel contains an organic substance as the indicating agent with the ability to remove moisture from the products. Its orange color changes to green when it gets saturated.
It is highly environmental safe desiccant as this product does not have any kind of foreign impurities such as chlorides, sulphates and other types of organic matters.

Orange silica gel is tasteless, odorless, non-toxic, and non-corrosive. It has non-hazardous effects as it does not react with any chemical. It has a huge internal surface area that makes it a perfect desiccant to adsorb large amount of water vapors. It is available in the form of granular or beads that has the ability to adsorb range of hydrocarbons, sulphur & nitrogen compounds, carbon dioxide and several other substances.
This type of high capacity desiccant can adsorb water or moisture more easily as compared to other liquids and gases. These desiccant packets placed in product packaging can also prevent the mold, mildew and other damage to the products. These packets can absorb up to 40% of its own weight of water.
When the adsorption capacity reaches to 60%, the orange color gets changed to dark green. They can be used alone or can be mixed with 10% of standard silica gel.
